Job Description

This role will lead the Marketing, Sales & Service Solution Delivery and ops teams in delivering IT solutions across the Commercial business domains for Olympus to improve business performance. This role will lead the team to develop and deliver new solutions, enhancing the end user experience and promoting good practice. They will ensure all end user technology is kept up to date and introduce new technologies e.g. Machine Learinng.

Job Duties

  • Determine technical needs across the global commercial business units.


  • Lead the team to analyze complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards to define and develop solutions.


  • Drive end-to-end delivery in the Marketing, Sales & Service solutions space.


  • Provide expertise and leadership in the design, development and management of all Marketing, Sales & Service solutions, and associated support.


  • Lead the team to consult with end users to identify system function specifications incorporate into overall system design.


  • Act as a senior escalation point, mentor and guide to the Marketing, Sales & Service solution delivery team.


  • Plan and drive scoping, requirements, and prioritization activities for large, complex initiatives by obtaining input from and formal agreement from a diverse range of stakeholders and ensuring changes are investigated and managed.


  • Directs the identification, evaluation, and adoption of technologies to improve business processes, and the creation of a cross-functional, enterprise-wide approach and culture for embracing business process management and improvement.


  • Directs the development of organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for software design and software architectures and selection and development of software design methods, tools, techniques. Ensures adherence to technical strategies and systems architectures (including security).


  • Directs the development and adoption of organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for software development.


  • Directs the provision of application maintenance support services and the development of standards and procedures. Builds capabilities for continuous improvement and ensures operational continuity from an application perspective.


  • Sets the release policy for the organization in the context of both development and production/operations. Ensures that the transition of services, service components and packages are planned and compliant and that test, validation and configuration management are partnered in all release and deployment activities.


  • Determines and delegates objectives and task responsibilities to individuals or teams — including people management responsibilities as appropriate. Sets the quality, performance and capability targets in line with organizational goals. Monitors performance and working relationships and provides effective feedback to address individual issues.


  • Assists practitioners with the creation of development plans. Advises and supports assigned practitioners, ensuring alignment with professional development plans and career opportunities

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience


  • Extensive experience deploying and leading IT projects


  • Extensive experience in leading teams of software development


  • Extensive experience in business facing roles with Marketing, Sales & Service functions


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Project Management certification preferable


  • Enterprise Business Applications certification preferable


  • System Integration Technologies training and certification preferable


  • Experience in Agile Development, with specific Solution Architect (or similar) experience preferred


  • Understands relationship with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Design Lead and rest of technical team


  • Experience managing technical priorities within the Backlog


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences


  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with executive leadership


  • Strong business sense and understanding of business processes and needs
