ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Answer all incoming calls to the department’s centralized help desk in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Promptly respond to requests for technical assistance via phone, chat or email
  • Accurately log all help desk communications and interactions
  • Track and route technical problems and requests for assignment to a technician.
  • Document resolution or each request.
  • Follow up with users to ensure issues are resolved to the satisfaction of the user.
  • Perform data entry into help desk software
  • Provide Tier1 level support such as password resets, user training, and resolving printer issues.
  • Follow help desk procedures to triage and prioritize service requests
  • Identify and escalate technical issues requiring urgent attention.
  • Inform management of recurring issues.
  • Stay current with system information, updates and changes.
  • Provide basic computer and application training to end users as necessary.
  • Perform cleanup and virus scanning of computers using remote desktop utilities.
  • Collect and summarizes pertinent information for data entry
  • Such other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrate a sensitivity to issues of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Exhibit an attentiveness to detail
  • Possess and demonstrate the ability to utilize proper grammar, sentence structure, and spelling
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with various computer operating systems and software packages

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen
  • Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk
  • Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation
  • Strength to lift files
  • Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis

Pay: $45,454.00 per year
