As our disciplined, yet patient and supportive Chaplain, you will provide spiritual and bereavement support to patients, families, and communities. In this role, you will utilize your helpful and friendly communication skills as you provide insightful and comforting spiritual services. As a naturally service-oriented and accommodating individual, you will be accepting of different lifestyles, beliefs, and cultures. The steady, even pace of activity each day will be a strong fit for you as you regularly work harmoniously with others internally and externally. We are Lumicare Hospice and we are searching for a Chaplain to provide the important spiritual support through the end-of-life process for our patients and their families.

What you’ll need to be our Chaplain:

  • Patient, conscientious, relaxed and cooperative team worker
  • Unselfish and approachable with a preference for detailed, skill-based work
  • Accommodating and analytical,while producing highly precise and accurate work
  • Master’s Degree in Divinity (preferred)
  • 2-4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) (preferred)
  • Able to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values
  • Strong listening skills
  • Hospice experience (preferred)

What you’ll do as the Chaplain:

  • Conduct life reviews through one-on-one visits with patients and/or families
  • Conduct five-day assessments for all incoming patients to determine their spiritual and/or emotional needs
  • Develop individualized care plans for the patients and families that accurately reflect results from initial and ongoing assessments to meet identified spiritual needs
  • Provide spiritual and bereavement support to patients, families, and communities
  • Support and participate in the hospice interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate records of spiritual care services and related activities for quality assurance, program development, and revision of policies & procedures
