Help make a difference in the Harborview community! HMC Hospital Security is actively recruiting for full-time variable shift HOSPITAL SECURITY OFFICERS. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe, secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors in a way that promotes the healing and teaching mission of HMC. Becoming a member of the Security Services team is an outstanding opportunity to help cultivate the relationship between security and the community. The team has a crucial role in maintaining a positive, caregiving and welcoming environment at the HMC campus in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines. Campus Security Officers provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the multiple departments of HMC, in both patient and non-patient areas. While modeling UW Medicine Service Culture Guidelines and utilizing excellent customer service skills, the responsibilities of a Campus Security Officer include oversight of the campus from a security perspective, response to emergencies, and enforcement of select policies.
General responsibilities and duties include:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent; possession of a valid driver's license; no previous felony convictions; AND two years of full-time college in police science or allied field; OR two years of police or campus security experience.
