1.Coordinate all aspects of program development, supervision, and facilities management.
a.Initiates, makes effective recommendations and participates with the Director and Manager in suggesting changes in staffing, and/or services provided by department.
b.Complies with and enforces all established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
c.Prepares and conducts performance evaluation on time and recommends appropriate merit awards involving direct reports.Initiates and makes timely and effective recommendations personnel action, including, but not limited to hiring, scheduling and performance improvement.
d.Calibrates with appropriate Environmental Service director, manager, supervisors, charge and line staff to manage all departmental services.
e.Orients, trains, supervise, and assign work to staff either directly or through charge and designated staff members and closely supervises them until fully trained. Is responsible to ensure all shift charge and line staff has current/updated competency and protocol references.Providing formal training and performs informal instructions with assigned personnel in the use of equipment and cleaning methods to provide efficient and effective housekeeping service.
f.Meetings: Facilitates daily staff huddles, checks with shift for issues or needs for daily operation. Attends monthly supervisor / charge meetings. Participates in and or co-facilitates monthly staff meetings as necessary. Runs effective huddles, starts and ends on time, prepares agenda and follows up on outstanding issues. Checks with each shift for issues or needs for daily operation.
g.Prepares and posts shift schedules on a timely basis insuring that adequate coverage is maintained. Approves time off request within facility and department guidelines.
2.Demonstrate competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the cleaning maintenance of the facility.
.Tours hospital regularly, completing rounds and inspections to insure that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
a.Resolves cleanliness and safety issues in a timely manner.
b.Utilizes project management skills coordinates projects on shift, exhibits flexibility in assignments and performance expectations. Responsible for the accuracy/ timely completion of various projects.
c.Participates in the general cleaning and project functions and will be required to perform these duties as a member of the team. Assists with special projects such as shampooing carpets, stripping and refinishing floors. May be required to perform all or some of the duties of an Environmental Service Worker.
d.Actively pursues improving customer service via Press Ganey surveys.

Qualifications
Experience Minimum Required
- One to three years working experience as a EVS charge person, experience within the operating room and/or supervisor in a healthcare facility or equivalent hospitality supervisory / management experience.
Experience Preferred/Desired
- One to three years working experience as Housekeeping / Environmental Services supervisory level in a full service acute care hospital with over 100 bed that was accredited by JCAHO
Education Minimum Required
- High School diploma or equivalent. Current CEH, REH, CHESP or CSCT obtained within 27 months of start of employment.
Education Preferred/Desired
- Prefers associate degree in hospitality or facilities management. Current CEH, REH, CHESP or CSCT.
Training Minimum Required
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of cleaning, sanitation and linen services.
- Must be experienced in floor care maintenance including stripping and finishing, carpet care, spotting and maintenance.
- Must be proficient with computer programs i.e.; Microsoft Office
- Training Preferred/Desired
- In-depth knowledge of AORN surgical cleaning requirements.
