HVAC Technician Job at OWENS CORNING
Description
The HVAC Technician position based at the OC Science & Technology Center in Granville, OH, is a salary position with possibility of overtime. This position is responsible for maintaining all of our site infrastructructure working closely with other technicians on a daily basis. Candidate will perform general facilities maintenance tasks.
This facility includes 22 buildings with 600,000 sqft under roof, situated on a campus of 524 acres.
The position reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
- Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leader
- Work in a safe manner at all times utilizing the proper personal protective equipment
Perform routine maintenance on site infrastructure
- Comply with Owens Corning safety policies
- Coordinates with internal and external resources to ensure safe and cost effective solutions for daily tasks.
- Conducts preventative and repair maintenance on various HVAC equipment on campus.
- Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Oversees work of contractors in support of site capital projects
- Access Work Request System and complete maintenance work requests as directed
- Follow up with internal customers on open work request status
- Safely operate site vehicles
Perform other general facilities maintenance tasks
- Perform various other facilities maintenance and site operations tasks in support of on-going site projects
- Be an engaged member of the Site Operations Team, including attending team meetings and assisting other technicians as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and safe
- Must be self motivated
- Willing to obtain training as required by job level
Job Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial/industrial HVAC
- Knowledge of various DDC controls
- Vocational/Technical school is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Heating and Cooling knowledge
- Plumbing and pipefitting skills
- Electrical knowledge
