SeaCa Plastic Packaging's Maintenance Department is looking to add an experienced Industrial Electrician to our team at our Surprise, AZ location. The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who excels working in a demanding and fast paced environment and demonstrates excellent prioritization, decision making and time management skills.

The Industrial Electrician is primarily responsible for the electrical instillation and servicing of equipment as well as all mechanical and electrical maintenance for the plant as required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understands and follows all safety rules and regulations
  • Thoroughly understands Lockout/Tagout and how to stop all energy sources
  • Perform all major electrical repair and maintenance of all SES, MCC, distribution panels, and energized equipment. Must be Arc Flash certified and competent person skilled in all voltages up to 480V. Run conduit up to 4” GRC and ensure all repairs / installations are up to current NEC standards.
  • Installs and connects power supply conduit and wiring to machines and equipment, connects cables and wires between power supplies, machines, and equipment
  • Performs routine diagnosis, repairs, trouble shoots and preventative maintenance to assure that all electrical, electronic, mechanical, plant circuitry, hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems, which includes but not limited to air compressors, motor control centers, fuse boxes, switches, conveyors, pump air handler, gas valves, lighting fixtures, steam boiler, transformers, and electrical motors are in proper working order
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunctions with other maintenance workers and production workers to diagnose problems
  • Gains detailed knowledge of production equipment components to diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions, failures, and provide corrective action
  • Assist mechanic tech with repairs of all machines when needed regardless of type of repair.
  • Performs all aspects of mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • Keeps accurate and complete records of all maintenance performed
  • Performs maintenance procedures as recommended by the machine manufacturer
  • Recommends machinery and/or parts to be purchased
  • Responsible for completing work orders as assigned
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hydraulics, pneumatic, and other mechanical equipment
  • Learn a complex series of machine settings that have interrelated outcomes as they are being changed
  • Work in a team environment and follow direction
  • Adapt to a changing workplace schedule that requires a 24 hour and 7-day operating schedule
  • Performs similar duties as required
  • Ensures work area is clean and organized
  • Adheres to all Company rules and regulations outlined in the Employee Handbook and elsewhere
  • Responsible for not leaving job/plant premises when known problem exists without ensuring corrective action is in place

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of manufacturing, industrial electrical experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Ability to operate gas torches, welders, and small power tools
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must understand OSHA standards

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced technical or college training preferred
  • Writing and mathematical skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to handle fast pace and high stress environment
  • Ability to withstand dusty, hot, cold, humid, windy, and noisy conditions
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and push/pull at least 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel or stoop for extended periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
