Job Summary:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) program as an Infrastructure Oversight Technical Lead.

Serve as a technical leader and a manager to the infrastructure projects related to the deployment of an Electronic Healthcare Record, focusing on the infrastructure requirements to support the deployment of the software.

Leadership will be provided across various topics/workstreams, including physical, complex system integration, end-user device implementation/deployment to include configuration, and WAN connectivity in a healthcare environment (e.g., hospital deployments, health informatics, biomedical devices etc.). The candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a cross-disciplinary team and building effective client relationships.

The candidate will also be responsible for management duties including technical requirements management (from enterprise and site-level requirements analysis and requirements traceability), risk management, coordinating expert schedulers to integrate enterprise-level perspective down to a workstream level, and senior client reporting and communications.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience leading a cross-disciplinary team
  • Experience with requirements development, requirements management, and requirements traceability
  • Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity (RIO) management
  • Experience with schedule development and management
  • Must have experience independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/clinical environment
  • Ability to perform as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics and multiple platforms
  • Must have experience seeing projects to completion
  • Must have experience performing feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, computer science, electronics engineering, engineering or technical related field, or an additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • 5+ years of experience with client-facing work
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Experience with large scale, enterprise systems integration/interface and deployment
  • Experience managing core technical aspects of IT related projects
  • Knowledge of VA Network capacity planning activities around VistA

Compensation:

  • Full-Time Direct Hire
  • Compensation: $100,000-$135,000
