Summary:
Provides clean and sterile supplies and equipment through decontamination, cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and storage with inventory of all surgical instrumentation. Performs patient care support duties related to environmental, and maintenance duties. Supports the surgical patient care team by performing multifunctional activities, applying aseptic techniques and principles under the direction of a Unit Manager/Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required

Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required
- High school level course work in English grammar and basic mathematic
- Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions
- Current IAHCSMM or NICHSPD Certification or in an approved certification program and be able to obtain certification within six months of hire date.

- Ability to be self-directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling, , and cleaning equipment and materials.
- Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology for surgical applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot autoclaves alarming and knowledge of when to call for maintenance assistance.
- Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
