Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Embedded Intelligence Services (EIS) department, the Intelligence Analyst II will support the analytical needs of a key EIS client in the health services field and its Executive Protection (EP) needs. The Analyst will work directly with his/her Manager and the EIS team to produce analysis addressing client-specific requirements.
The Analyst will be remote, US-based (California-based client and work hours), reporting to Crisis24 offices in Annapolis, MD. Occasional holiday and after-hours work may be required.
Key Responsibilities
In coordination with Crisis24 EIS Managers, and in accordance with appropriate guidance:
  • Leverage OSINT tools / software including those that search for potential risks and threats.
  • Evaluate suspicious items as flagged by the company or EP team.
  • Risk findings, assessments, reporting, and action plan development and execution.
  • Conduct threat monitoring, reporting, and action plan development and execution.
  • Identify online vulnerabilities and options to mitigate.
  • Create assessments in support of travel and event planning (i.e., advance work, route planning).
  • Monitor inhouse information streams including from local, state and federal government agencies including information provided by client departments (e.g., Information Security, People & Engagement {HR}, Legal, Corporate Security).
  • Access to client’s tools (e.g., DataMinr, Recorded Future) which primarily focus on internet searches (e.g., official government agency websites, social media, dark web).
  • Make ongoing recommendations for improvement of client’s search criteria, provided information and tools / software.
  • Monitor, investigate and provide daily reports on people of interest, inappropriate / concerning communications and threats.
  • Provide risk analysis and assessments on these individuals, communications and threats as they relate to client employees, offices, events and travel.
  • Evaluate, trend, track and recommend EP approaches for concerning client company and personal emails, and phone and text messages, for risks and threats.
  • Provide daily report and recommendations based on the assessed level of risk and threat for Corporate Security and identify:
  • Direct threats and security risks to the corporation and / or client employees.
  • Monitor indirect threats and security risks not directly targeting the company or its employees but present in regions where the company operates.
  • Identify how vulnerable client is to these risks and threats should they be realized.
  • Identify what would be the impact, or loss, should these threats be realized.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for risk and threat trends.
  • Monitor trending of risks and threats.
  • Partner with Corporate Security and other client departments to evaluate / discuss risks and threats and find appropriate approaches to further explore and solution.
  • Based on any potential identified risks and threats, recommendations to include the need to increase / decrease additional protection services to client and its employees who are potentially at risk and how this will be implemented.
  • Recommend and facilitate procurement of psychologist reviews of perceived and received risks and threats that will assist our understanding of the risk level and needed actions.
  • Provide notification and escalation processes for identified concerns, risks threats, and incidents to client Corporate Security and Real Estate Leadership.
  • Articulate the process to evaluate risks and threats that would trigger a recommendation for Armed Agents, the level of training, qualifications and certifications required for this enhanced service, and the standards and procedures in alignment with this recommendation.
  • Gather, assess, and disseminate analysis on the nature of global security threats, the likelihood that they will affect the client's travelers, assets, and operations, and what the likely effects are
  • Actively monitor open source media, third-party subscription services, and other sources in real time for issues that could affect business operations and personnel
  • Using the intelligence cycle, research, assess, and support the production of written intelligence products that meet client requirements as well as EIS analytic standards, including but not limited to: Travel Threat Assessments, Location Threat Assessments (Neighborhood-, City-, or Country-level), Site Threat Assessments, Event Threat Assessments, Requests for Intelligence, Daily Incident Assessments or Intelligence Products, Threat Forecasting, Scenario Forecasting, Social Media Monitoring, Online Exposure Assessments
  • Liaise with the client to better understand their requirements and concerns
  • Deliver oral and written threat briefings to members of Client’s security team or business leadership teams
  • Manage client expectations by understanding the EIS team's product offerings
  • Be consistently engaged on a daily basis with Executive Protection team
Education, Experience, and Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in intelligence analysis, threat assessment, incident response, security operations or a related field required
  • Bachelor's degree or military equivalent in relevant field required; Master's degree preferred

  • Experience overseeing other analysts' work a plus
  • Experience leading projects with several other analysts

  • Extensive periods of sitting
  • Occasional travel to Crisis24 office
in Annapolis, MD and client site in San Jose, CA may be required

Information Security
Adhere to applicable information security procedures and policies as updated from time to time on the ISMS. Report any information security incidents or potential information security threats to the Information Security Officer. Take a proactive approach to information security.

  • Flexible hours and work days are required to meet Crisis24 core 24/7 mission.
