Lab Technician, Bedford, MA

Seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician that would be responsible for fiber- and film-based textile products manufacturing. This position works on assignments following established manufacturing procedures in the execution of daily activities and receives instructions on new assignments. These assignments are routine in nature where cGMP experience is required to perform work activities. This role will be performed in a laboratory environment with wearing PPE required.

Responsibilities for the Lab Technician:

  • Operate production equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Records, Manufacturing Directions (MD), and Manufacturing Operating Procedure (OPM).
  • Perform cutting, slitting, fiber and film extrusion, and/or packaging of textile woven and non-woven products.
  • Perform scheduled cleanings and sterilization of equipment.
  • Support formulation adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process related issues.
  • Record data into Batch Records, log books and OPM’s.
  • Review Logbook and Forms.
  • Document all work activities according to Good Documentation Practices.
  • Report procedural deviations and nonconformance to management.
  • Support change over activities and maintain current training on all assigned procedures to include read &understood, skills development and classroom training activities as required.

Required for the Lab Technician:

  • Must possess written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to gain entry to biotechnology/pharmaceutical manufacturing areas.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a laboratory setting and wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses/goggles, gloves and safety shoes.
  • Ability to lift, pull or push equipment requiring up to 25-50 lbs; and stand for 6 hours in a production suite.
  • Ability to work around chemicals (alcohols, acids, bases).
  • Ability to work flexible hours to complete work activities.

Preferred for the Lab Technician:

  • Manufacturing experience in the medical device industry.
  • Experience working in a clean room or using aseptic technique.
  • Experience using commercial scale automated equipment.
  • Ability to perform computerized transactions and maintain spreadsheets.

Education Requirements for the Lab Technician:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification and 2 - 4 years of related experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
