Landscape Project Manager
Job purpose
This position exists as the administrative portion of the landscape design and sales process and supports the principle designer. The candidate will work seamlessly between client, designer and production crews and vendors.
Qualified candidate duties and responsibilities:
Works closely with principle designer from concept to complete implementation of designs. Attends site visits.
Oversees sub-contractors- provides plans, requests estimates, adds estimates to in-house proposals, oversees scheduling and coordination of work.
Develops estimates- initiates job costing sheets, procures necessary elements to complete the project. Understands various markups.
Sources and purchases plants and hardgoods - maintains a list of suitable vendors, have basic knowledge of inventory they stock.
Schedules meetings—liaises between clients and designer to schedule appointments. Understands time needed for travel and meeting. Some out of state and international meeting appointments will be necessary.
Provides direction to production crews in an courteous respectful manner
Manages purchases efficiently with profit margin as the guiding end result.
Communicates with clients directly - email and phone communication in a professional manner in the company’s voice. Has working knowledge of projects and properties to be able to satisfactorily answer possible questions.
Prepares principle for client meeting – prints plans, estimate, procures samples, oversees mock ups.
Maintains and prioritizes running task lists
Liaises with design and drafting professionals to establish base plans and follow up revisions.
Respects client’s privacy.
Develops procedural checklists by working with principle to develop policy and procedure for various tasks.
Establishes excellent vendor relations through courteous communication and follow through.
Maintains valid NYS driver’s license
Possesses superior writing skills
Possesses excellent phone skills
Possesses general knowledge of the following software programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Quickbooks,PDF,
Operates large format in house plotter and ability to scale plans
Reads plans and print to scale
Assists with inprogress invoicing as needed
Attributes-
Self-starter and able to work without daily direction, Able to work as part of team
Proactive thinker
Morning person
Ability to transition between office and field with minimal notice
Basic interest in nature, plants and design
Helpful Attributes
English Spanish bi-lingual
CAD proficiency
Required Qualifications
Minimum of three years’ full time experience in landscape design, installation and Maintenance Company. On the job experience and knowledge of the industry is key. Educational experience to support job qualifications.
Working Conditions
Field work will sometimes involve exposure to extreme summer heat, winter cold and light rain. As well as muddy site conditions.
Some physical effort/lifting of medium weight up to 40 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
