LASER OPERATOR (1ST & 3RD SHIFTS ONLY) Job at Olympic Steel
This position will be a part of our new Bartlett, IL facility.
The Laser Operator is the operations team member whose primary goal is to satisfy customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery, in a safe manner while maximizing productivity. Specifically, the Laser Operator Cutting Technician is the team member responsible for all job activities (tasks) associated with the actual cutting of the parts and the proper removal and identification of the cut parts from the cutting table, packaging, and supervision of the Laser Packaging personnel. This includes; ensuring proper tech table values, nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality, transformations, and quality inspections. The quality and quantity of the parts coming off the table(s) are the responsibility of the Laser Operator Cutting Technician.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of previous laser operation experience
- Basic math skills (change fractions to decimals, multiple, divide, etc.)
- Ability to read customer part prints or the successful completion of print reading class.
- Successful completion of the appropriate cutting machine training program, or experience comparable to training.
- Successful completion of applicable cutting machine proficiency test.
- Inspect material/parts for Quality conformance.
- Precisely follow detailed and extensive instructions.
- Sound decision making capabilities.
