SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for preventative, diagnostic and corrective maintenance of company property, including all machines and mechanical equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatical tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.

· Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

· Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.

· Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

· Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

· Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

· Replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools.

· Installs special functional and structural parts in devices using had tools.

· Lubricates and cleans parts.

· May set up and operate, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

· May initiate purchase order for parts and machines.

· May repair electrical equipment.

· Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.

· Wear proper PPE – headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing when required.

· Complete daily assignments (long and short term) as instructed by Maintenance manager in a timely and efficient manner.

· Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems.

· Observe, receive, and obtain information from all relevant sources.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Work Experience

· Training in vocational schools, related on-the job experience, or an Associate Degree.

· Background and experience in Industrial/Manufacturing maintenance

· PLC programing capabilities including troubleshooting and modification abilities.

· Experience with Due Solutions a plus

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

·Database user interface and query software such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server

·Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel

-Self-starter with attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

· Be at least 18 years of age.

· English fluency a must and Spanish fluency a plus

· Ability to work independently or as a team member.

· Good interpersonal communication skills with all levels of management.

· Background or experience in the food production industry a plus

·Positive attitude and work ethic

·Able to work independently or as an active member of a team

·Forklift certification is a plus, or ability to obtain

· Able to legally work and currently reside in the United States

Physical Capabilities Required

·Required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time

·Required to operate a computer and keyboard

·Visual acuity to review written documentation

·Ability to hear and understand speech

·Manual dexterity to operate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms

·Lift horizontally and vertically

·Bend, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently to move objects.

·There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.

·Exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.

· Differential for hours worked between 7pm and 7am! This is on top of the listed wage!
