Position Description: The Manager-in-Development will learn about management of the hospitality field by rotating through various operational departments and working multiple guest contact positions, supervisor positions and support positions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Rotate through multiple guest contact positions, support positions, supervisor positions and departments.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for members and guests.
  • Properly prepare and set up areas for service.
  • Greet and assist members and guests.
  • Perform daily tasks and responsibilities of each rotation.
  • Supervise employees and service in supervisory rotations.
  • Work with other supervisors and managers to problem solve quickly and efficiently.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to different positions and departments.
  • Assist management with ordering, inventory, scheduling as needed.
  • Ensure high quality of service and surroundings in each area.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and co-workers. Inform management promptly of any maintenance, safety or equipment issues.
  • Complete any tasks as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
  • Must maintain the policy of this company to conduct operations in a manner that will prevent injuries to people and damage to property and equipment and that will comply with all applicable regulations for safety and health.
  • Promote and adhere to standards set by Seabrook Island Club.
  • Lead by example and promote Seabrook Core Values, Characteristics, Employee Constitution and Decision Making.
Requirements:

Education: Recent graduate from a hospitality program at an accredited college/university. Prior Seabrook Island Club internship preferred but not required.

Experience: Some restaurant service or customer service experience preferred.

Skills: Positive and outgoing personality, professional image and polish, excellent people skills even under stressful, fast paced work situations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work quickly, efficiently and neatly while focusing on providing high level customer service. The ability to think quickly, problem solve, prioritize customer needs and requests and multi-task required; strong work ethic and willing to be part of a team required while owning the learning experience. Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Staff during various supervisor rotations.

Equipment to be used: Computer POS systems, blenders, soft serve ice cream machine and other miscellaneous restaurant equipment, pool equipment, golf maintenance equipment, kitchen and culinary equipment.

Typical Physical Demands: This position requires moderate strength and physical fitness. Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds and remain standing for long periods of time. The position also requires repeated sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, a normal range of hearing and vision and the ability to work in extreme temperatures during long shifts. Ability to work professionally in a mentally and physically challenging environment.
