Job Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will design and CAD manufacturing drawings to customer specifications for custom converting rollers within the web converting industry. More specifically, this position will review customer documentation/specifications, determine/confirm design requirements, produce CAD manufacturing drawings, and be involved in helping oversee the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering or a technology degree in CAD from an accredited program.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks is necessary.
  • 3D model and create 2D drawings using Inventor along with Vault (Inventor is similar to Solid Works, Creo, and other 3D programs).
  • Understanding of GD&T.
  • Update and organize prints.
  • Technical communication skills (will have engineering conversations with customers/sales via email/zoom/phone).
  • Familiar with lathe, CNC, or mill machinery/practices (having past experience running these machines in the past is a HUGE PLUS, will make routings/estimations more accurate)
  • Familiar with ERP systems.
  • Customer focused; excellent interpersonal skills- ability to clearly communicate both oral and written.
  • Ability to design and create technical documentation that meets standards and maintains documentation as required.
  • Ability to quickly analyze and understand customer drawings and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve project results within required timeframes.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, solid analytical skills, and good working knowledge of materials.
  • Capable to work on multiple projects while maintaining schedules.
  • Contributes towards project planning and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, estimate, plan and execute work that meets/exceeds customer expectations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Experience or education in lean or six sigma quality methods preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
