Description:

Miura America is growing and has openings for entry- and junior-level mechanical engineers within the Engineering department. Engineers at Miura support the design, production, and sales of new steam generation equipment and auxiliaries. This includes working on design improvements, providing factory support, testing equipment, and controlling designs by managing drawings and bills of material. Personal and career development is encouraged, and advanced responsibilities are available such as performing conceptual project design calculations, managing product development projects, managing ASME pressure vessel code compliance, and similar.


The position is based at our headquarters in Rockmart, GA with typical 8-5 hours. While the nature of the work often requires duties to be performed in person, remote work is encouraged as tasks allow.


The ideal candidate will be professional, self-directed, and enjoy problem solving while having a firm understanding of engineering fundamentals and strong communication skills. Engineers at Miura often engage in hands-on testing and design work, so you should be comfortable working in a factory environment wearing common safety equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product development and improvement including design and testing of industrial machinery
  • Creating and revising drawings (mechanical, electrical, schematics, etc.), bills of material, and documentation (manuals, calculators, etc.)
  • Hands-on testing and troubleshooting of factory products
  • Serving as a technical expert providing engineering support to other departments
  • Documenting and communicating technical design data
  • Understanding and applying various codes and regulations (ASME, UL, NFPA, etc.)
  • Supporting training events for customers, representatives, and Miura personnel
  • Traveling occasionally for field support, training, trade shows, and similar


Minimum Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD programs


Preferred:

  • EIT certification
  • Experience with ASME BPVC design, UL standards, and similar
  • Exposure to machine design and a factory environment
  • Experience designing and/or troubleshooting industrial control systems
