Our Mission

The Children’s Home Society of Idaho is committed to providing exceptional mental health care services to the children we serve by caring for them with understanding and compassion. We are dedicated to breaking the stigma on mental health and making sure all children receive the proper care they deserve.

About CHS

The Children’s Home Society of Idaho was founded in 1908 by O.P. Christian, who worked alongside several community leaders, including C.W. Moore and Gov. Frank R. Gooding, to provide a place for children who were roaming city streets, begging and stealing food.

When foster care came about in the late 1960s, orphanages were soon to become obsolete. Thus, a transition began in 1975 from orphanage to outpatient mental health clinic.

The Children’s Home Society operates the Warm Springs Counseling Center.

Most clients we treat are children who are considered “at-risk” due to their economic, physical, and/or emotional status. More than 80 percent of those treated at the center cannot pay or co-pay for services but still receive treatment.

Common conditions we treat include trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, bullying, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, bipolar disorders, and foster care placement, just to name a few.

Through our high standards of best practices and ethics in the therapy and other services we provide, our goal is to help our clients develop coping skills, relief of mental illness symptoms, and have the positive experiences necessary to succeed in education, at home, with their interpersonal relationships, and lead happy, healthy, productive lives.

As one of the founding and most experienced outpatient providers of behavioral health services in Idaho, Warm Springs Counseling Center (WSCC) serves thousands of children and families every year.

We are looking for a full-time therapist at our Meridian and/or Boise location.
