Metrology Layout Technician
Amotec is currently recruiting for a Metrology Layout Technician in the Central New York area. This role is with our client, a leader in the Aerospace Industry, manufacturing highly complex, and innovative components for the commercial aerospace market. This position is a first shift, DIRECT HIRE role. Our client is looking for someone with the ability to set and lay out castings, wax tools, patterns, ceramic cores, and gauges.

Responsibilities:
- Set up and lay out castings, wax tools, wax patterns, ceramic cores and gages using standard layout equipment including manual and programmable CMMs
- CMM program development, modification and implementation in close association with Engineering
- Operate, program and document layout of various manufacturing metal castings Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Blue light scanner, or other measuring equipment
- Interpret, read, download, and understand complex blue prints, CAD models and apply that understanding to interpret the results of layout inspection data
- Adhere to AS9100 and ISO procedures and compliance
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; OR a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Prefer degrees in engineering technologies
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
