The Mold Technician will verify that each machine setup is done correctly by completing a checklist for each run. During production, you will troubleshoot issues with equipment and make necessary adjustments, helping to ensure production is completed on time. You will also visually inspect items to uphold a consistent level of quality. Applicants should have at least two years of experience working with plastic injection molds, insert-molding and over-molding as well as experience in drying plastics, mixing color pellets and regrind.
Responsibilities:
- Act as Lead for molding department
- Assist in scheduling jobs to production floor
- Set up and start up vertical/vertical injection molding machines
- Document mold changes and machine adjustments
- Troubleshoot equipment or tooling issues during production
- Perform routine maintenance
- Inspect items to ensure a consistent level of quality
- Housekeeping of the molding area (tooling, inserts, plastics)
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned
Requirement:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with plastic injection molding (3+ years preferred)
- Experience in measuring devices
- Experience in workmanship standards and terminology as related to injection molding
- Materials handling experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Bilingual communication skills a plus
