Facilities Management Division:
The Operations Warehouse Program Specialist will be part of the Facilities Management Division. This Division of 118 staff provides for the care and maintenance of the Department’s physical assets including facilities, pavement, fleet, and major building systems. With a budget over $13 million dollars, the division is responsible for facility condition assessments, major and minor maintenance programs, and serves as the primary support to the Department’s Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). The division strives to achieve a balance between the upkeep of aging facilities and new construction by integrating a number of CIP and major maintenance projects into the daily work program each year.

This position provides oversight of and implementation of numerous centralized Departmental programs (warehousing and inventory of Departmental stock/supplies/materials, uniform store, EZ Pass, IT equipment and battery recycling) operating from the warehouse at the Green Farm Maintenance Facility.

Examples of Important Duties

Administrative Tasks


  • Reviews and identifies the need for updating or adding new procedures and processes to the operation of the Green Farm Warehouse including efficiency initiatives and digital documentation control.
  • Optimizes warehouse operations by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, and scheduling expenditures.
  • Researches and selects product suppliers and available contracts, obtains price quotes, develops purchase orders, reviews/recommends bids, and purchase requests, and approves invoices for payment.
  • Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage.
  • EZ Pass administration and tracking.
Management of Uniform Store
  • Oversees operation of uniform store, maintaining inventory at or within prescribed levels to ensure store is well-stocked to meet employee needs.
  • Researches product availability, obtains bids, price quotes and completes purchase requisitions for uniform apparel.
  • Provides analysis of inventory stock and assesses trends to improve operations.
Oversight of Warehouse Operations
  • Leads and directs seasonal staff, supporting the intake of orders/deliveries to the warehouse.
  • Ensures deliveries are checked and inspected for quality and quantity of items received.
  • Organizes and catalogs all materials and parts in warehouse.
  • Places vendor orders on stock items as necessary to maintain preset levels.
  • Develops, revises, and maintains business processes for centralized services provided by the warehouse (example: Uniform Store, IT equipment and battery recycling, warehousing of stock/supplies/materials).
  • Develops and implements centralized programs to be operated out of the warehouse (e.g., Department-wide office supply program) to gain efficiencies.
Important Skills and Characteristics
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Considerable knowledge and skill in collecting, analyzing, organizing, and documenting information to use to develop processes and programs to increase efficiency.
  • Ability to mine data and perform quality control checks to assure quality of products in a store environment and effective stocking.
  • Ability to produce and generate reports and presentations (example: uniform usage and trends, EZ Pass usage, warehouse binning and storage of stock/supplies/materials).
  • Capable of handling multiple program responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate across different Divisions and Departments, verbally and written.
  • Must be able to use computer equipment (MS Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing an inventory of apparel, furniture, or similar product.
  • Previous experience managing warehouse operations including inventory analysis, leading, and directing employees.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain management, business management, etc.
  • At least 3 years of experience.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Business or any related field.
2. One (1) year of experience in human resource management, finance or any other related area of business administration.
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total 5 years.
