Summary

The Organizational Effectiveness Analyst independently performs analysis of departmental performance within business units including Production, Engineering and Support Organizations. Shares accountability for improving station performance by communicating insights and recommendations to department management. Will be a primary contributor to periodic focused assessments by providing observations and critical feedback.

Minimum Requirements

A four year Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering or science field from an accredited college or university. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, SRO license (must currently hold or have held); or, High School diploma/GED plus four (4) years experience as a qualified nuclear Reactor Operator; or, eight (8) years experience working in a technical field performing analytical functions. Demonstrated ability to use data collection tools (interview, document review and data manipulation via software programs) to extract and analyze data either through formal training, qualification or applicable experience. Demonstrated ability to use business reporting software to build and modify reports. Energy/utility industry experience and understanding of energy industry issues and market dynamics, including nuclear operations drivers, industry technology trends, etc. preferred. Experience with observing and assessing behaviors in an organizational setting preferred.



Nuclear requirement: Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are a condition of employment at PVGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Conducts detailed analysis and assessment of department level performance within business units including Production, Engineering or Support Groups. Analyzes data from various sources such as field observation, interviews, condition reports, performance indicators, document review, and performance metrics, and conducts analysis of data to assess performance against established industry standards. Based on analysis and assessments, provides insight to department management through analytical reports, and presentations and provide recommendations for improvements.


2) Primary contributor to periodic focused assessments by observing field activities, providing critical feedback on performance deficiencies, and communicates conclusions with department managers.

3) Maintains and uses performance monitoring tools to analyze individual and team performance, and trends. Ensures performance measures, such as performance metrics, are consistent with the industry, and are reported in an accurate and timely manner to internal and external stakeholders. Programs and areas of performance include: Condition Report Coding, Human Performance, Operating Experience, Problem Identification and Resolution, Corrective Action Program, Performance Monitoring Program, Trending and Analysis Program, Employee Engagement Program and Organizational Effectiveness.

4) Performs other activities and special projects, as assigned, by station leadership.

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
