Packager Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for packaging fixtures and pallets to spec using plastic banding machines, powered shrink wrap machines and basic packaging materials.

Essential Functions (Other duties as assigned):

· Weighing packages and labeling them appropriately

· Inspecting packages to ensure they are not damaged

· Moving fixtures and pallets using electric and manual pallet jacks

· Wrapping fixtures with electrical shrink wrap machines

· Checking quality of fixtures and components prior to packaging

Education and Required Skills:

· In-depth knowledge of packing and shipping procedures

· Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and shrink wrap machine

· Good knowledge of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment for long hours

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· Good communication skills

Working Condition:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to noise levels consistent with a mill work factory environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
