Patient Care Representative II | Pain Solutions, Contingent Job at Memorial Hospital of Union County
Answers phones; records messages; greet patients/visitors; prepares charts for clinic; schedules appointments and procedures; obtains all relevant information for scheduling; confirms scheduled appointments. Obtains prior-authorization for visits, testing or procedures from insurance carriers. Reconciles patient charges; collects payments in applicable clinics. Assists patients to schedule appointments for radiology, physical and/or occupational therapy, and other ancillary services. Ensures daily schedules are accurate and available to staff and physicians. Assists with registration of patients for treatment and testing; enters accurate patient demographic information. Performs duties as assigned while consistently projecting a positive and professional image through appearance and behavior.
Requirements
Completion of high school education supplemented with coursework or experience which evidences basic knowledge of patient care techniques/medical terminology; six (6) months of clerical experience in a health care setting, filing and retrieval methods, general office practices and coding; Associates Degree in Medical Secretarial Sciences, Coding or related field preferred. Certified Medical Assistant preferred; attains American Heart Association’s BLS certification within six (6) months of employment and maintains continuous certification.
