Summary

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and Surgical Specialties clinic is the clinical home for children and families seeking care across multiple surgical subspecialties at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. The primary mission of the clinics is to partner with our physicians, nurses, and other providers to deliver excellent care and customer service. We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and self-driven Patient Service Intermediate to provide operational support to the clinics. This individual will share our priorities which include high quality medical care, excellent customer service, safety of staff and patients, efficiency, staff and physician satisfaction, stewardship of resources and the ideal experience for our patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities*

  • Template Editing – Review and process permanent and temporary template changes. Responsible for opening and closing of templates. Responsible for following Ambulatory Care Operations Committee Guidelines and communicating expectations to stakeholders. Responsible for communication to staff and faculty regarding permanent and temporary changes.
  • Room Allocation– Responsible for managing exam room allocation and metrics.
  • Charge and Encounter Reconciliation-Responsible for ensuring charges are appropriate and reconciled with encounters.
  • Back-up coverage – provide back-up coverage to Clinical PSA team.
  • Miscellaneous - Other duties as assigned by administrative leadership.

Required Qualifications*

  • Associates degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, as well as other database, e-mail, and calendar-keeping software
  • Experience with MiChart (Cadence and Reporting Workbench), Credentialed Super User desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with all levels of faculty and staff
  • Must possess demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize, manage multiple assignments, and follow through on job responsibilities
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate with others in a team environment, display leadership through problem solving and the initiative to advance knowledge
  • Team oriented individual
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance record

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration
  • Strong office computing experience required, advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications highly desired
  • Considerable knowledge of university policies and procedures related to the responsibility of this job

Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and Surgical Specialties clinics at C.S. Mott Hospital and other areas as needed

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
