Please note that there are a limited number of PS positions available and these positions are dependent on the unique staffing openings/needs of each season. All eligible staff meeting the criteria and expectations of the Permanent Substitute (PS) Lifeguard position must interview in order to be considered for the position, pending that there are positions available.
Key Responsibilities:In addition to maintaining the safety of patrons in our facility, Permanent Substitute (PS) lifeguards enforce rules, perform in-water rescues and provide first-aid and exceptional service to our guests.

Lifeguards are also responsible for helping to maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:

• The perfect candidate must be a CPAC lifeguard in "good standing" for a minimum of two (2) years prior to applying for a permanent sub position.
• All required pre-shift and evening in-service trainings must be completed.
• Required to attend a minimum of four (4) hours of in-service training per month during the season
• Work a minimum of eighteen (18) hours per week (to include no more than 1 Early Bird shift), including the maintenance of the weekly in-service requirement.
• Also must be in attendance at two (2) "All-Hands" meetings.

Selection may depend upon the following conditions:

• Evaluation of staffing needs (number of squad lifeguards)
• Years of service at CPAC
• Past evaluations of candidate's performance
• Expertise, competence and performance of both land and water skills
• Ability to adhere to a consistent subbing/in-service schedule

Additional Information

A limited number of PS positions may be available each season depending upon the needs of the facility and at the discretion of the Pool Manager. In the event that the position is deemed necessary, all eligible staff
meeting the required criteria and expectations must interview to be considered for the position. Positions are included in 'Lifeguard' budgeted positions so numbers will not exceed budgeted amounts

Compensation & Benefits:$15.00 per hour, experienced lifeguards only

Sub lifeguards are required to have 2 years of experience in order to qualify.
