- Day Shift M-F With Alternating Weekend / Manages Team with 5-6 Pharmacy Technicians

- Works closely with Compliance Officer and Director of Operations to ensure Neurology Efficiency and Protocol is maintained.

- Provides pharmaceutical care by: assessing patient demographics, reviewing and maintaining patient medication histories, reviewing patient medication profiles, establishing desired outcomes, developing therapeutic care plans, determining alternatives for achieving outcomes, educating patients on drug therapy, monitoring patient outcome, monitoring potential adverse, drug-drug, & drug-food interactions. Monitors drug therapy to evaluate appropriateness of use, drug, dosage form, regimen route, therapeutic duplication, and drug interactions. This includes counseling patients on over the counter (OTC) and prescription medications and nutritional supplements;

· Ensure that prescription dispensing operations comply with all laws, rules & regulations that govern the practice of Pharmacy in all states that pharmacy holds licenses.

· Maintain inventory of the prescription department to maximize profitably.

· Uses appropriate telephone and written communication skills & effectively communicates with patients, nurses, physicians & other co-workers to ensure all prescription are correct;

· Precepts Pharm.D externship & clerkship students.

· Recommend & develop improved systems for the operations & services of the prescription, OTC, nutritional and DME departments;

· Conduct informational meetings to the public and other health care providers about company products, services and professional objectives;

· Maintain prescriber and patient awareness of unique products & services and compliance programs;

· Oversee 3rd Party payment procedures to ensure maximum benefit to patients. May oversee audit processes;

· Oversee students consistent with academic credentials & practical experience;

· Identifies & acts upon methods to control costs to pharmacy and patients;

· Operate and maintain the pharmacy operating system computer system to maximize efficiency; and

· Attends & assists with end of the fiscal year inventory process.

· Perform all other related tasks as assigned by President.

· Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.

· Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs including appropriate immunization and, when available, MTM (Medication Therapy Management), DCS (Diabetes Care Specialist), and all additional ongoing programs as identified.

· Oversee the daily activities of the Pharmacy Department.

· Counsel customers with regard to medications filled at the Pharmacy.

· Ensure growth and profitability of the Pharmacy Department.

· Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.

· Interact with Physicians to gain additional information about customers and prescriptions to be filled.

· Ensure excellent customer service by Pharmacy associates.

· Maintain a clean and efficient Pharmacy Department.

· Provide leadership and development for associates by communicating career opportunities, providing regular performance feedback.

Job Requirements:

Professional License: Valid unrestricted Pharmacist license issued by NY State Board of Pharmacy

Valid Driver’s License or Government Issued Identification Required

- Must have strong Leadership Skills

- Must be familiar with limited distribution drugs

- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Neurology

- Must be Covid-19 vaccinated

Additional Requirements

· Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and other programs, knowledge preferred but not required.

· Ability to use standard office equipment including photocopier, fax machine, telephone.

· Ability to perform the following motions: walking, standing, lifting (20lb), reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending at the waist and finger grasping of items.

· Knowledge of 3rd party billing and commitment to providing quality Pharmaceutical Care.

Ability of manage staff and operations of assigned prescription department

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $122,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
