Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to join our leadership team. This role will be responsible for managing all plant operations with overall responsibility for production, quality, supply chain and distribution as well as any other production related activities. This role will provide leadership for plant operation employees, lead strategy deployment for plant initiatives and growth. Other duties include developing processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • You will manage shift supervisors, production support manager and warehouse supervisor as well as providing guidance and insight to leadership members onsite.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enforce the safety of employees
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Develop and maintain a shared behavior that drives safety culture and reduces risk
  • Work alongside safety, maintenance, and other applicable departments for shared initiatives
  • Production
  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed internal/external customer expectations
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Meet production schedule deadlines
  • Be accountable for supply chain, production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste/opportunities for improvement
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets
  • Direct Report Development
  • Drive a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Implement and oversee performance management processes
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Provide the leadership needed to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment
  • Evaluate talent, take steps to strength the team as required
  • Solidify succession plants

  • Remain up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
  • Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities
  • Identify equipment needs and provide justification for acquisition
  • Cost Control
  • Assist in developing budgets
  • Develop and control material costs, labor cost and expenses with budget plans
  • Deek and implement improved processes aimed to reduce cost and optimize workflow
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts

Required Skills:

  • BA or BS in operations management, business, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven supervisory skills and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven work experience as a Plant Manager
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Written and verbal communication to get point across to a variety of people in the business and clients.
  • Analytical thinking to arrive at conclusions after analyzing data and information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Research, or Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience is preferred.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in a technical role required, with significant leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in negotiations, operational management, and implementation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular travel is not required but you make be asked to travel occasionally with adequate notice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
