Plumber - Anderson University - HES Facilities Management


Essential Accountabilities:

A Focus on the plumbing trade to include:

  • Water heater replacement,
  • Waste disposal replacement,
  • Clearing of drain lines (from 1” up to 6”)
  • Using appropriate plumbing equipment,
  • Brazing copper tubing,
  • Clearing of toilets,
  • Various plumbing repairs,
  • Planned maintenance work using CMMS work order system,
  • Testing pipes by filling them with water,
  • Reading gauges,
  • Replacement of cold and hot water piping,
  • Ice maker repair,
  • Bathtub drain repair and clogs

Other Accountabilities:

  • Reports to Director of Facilities and/or Assistant Director of Maintenance.
  • Performs all work in accordance to established safety procedures.
  • Makes plumbing repairs and planned maintenance work by providing high quality work.
  • Able to learn and use a CMMS work order system to obtain and complete all work orders.
  • Works effectively with others including subcontractors to perform work specified work.
  • The ability to work under pressure, being able to manage and work deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with a good level of computer literacy
    Must provide basic hand tools for most jobs.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of Plumbing tools, materials, and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of repair, maintenance, and installation techniques.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate.
  • Must be able to braze and solder copper piping systems.
  • Must have the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to plan and organize work schedule to complete tasks in a timely manner.
