A Popeyes® Shift Manager ensures all Team Members during a shift exemplify Popeyes® famous Cajun Hospitality while serving Guests and creating a memorable experience while upholding Popeyes®’ Brand Standards. Shift Managers support the Operations Managers and Directors in making sure all food is freshly prepared and cooked to perfection for every Guest. The Shift Manager ensures Team Members deliver food to guests that is cooked to perfection, made with love, and served up with Popeyes® famous Cajun Hospitality. Shift Managers enjoy creating a collaborative spirit within the restaurant – they are energized by the opportunity to learn and grow. The Popeyes® Shift Manager position is also responsible for:
- Training restaurant associates on FOH and BOH duties and on food and work safety
- Delivering exceptional Guest experiences
- Achieving unit and department financial targets
- Overseeing day-to-day performance of Associates
- Supervising all Popeyes® Associates
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Contribute to building and sustaining the LSU Dining / Chartwells Mission and Culture
- Thorough knowledge of all operations, policies, procedures and practices
- Thorough knowledge of recipes and cooking utensils as well as quality and inventory control
- Thorough knowledge of FOH and BOH responsibilities
- Leadership and team building skills
- Strong communication (oral and written), listening, training, and assessment skills
- Ability to teach food and work safety to Associates
- Ability to count and report inventory correctly
- Ability to influence others, resolve complex problems, and facilitate processes
- Ability to embrace change and continuous learning.
- Reliable and dependable transportation is required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three years of quick-service restaurant operations experience required.
- Management experience preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
