ROLE OVERVIEW

Having the passion for hospitality that exceeds the expectations of guests while working as a cohesive team, the Prep/Pantry Cook is primarily responsible forsautéingand frying foods based on recipe, ensuring our guests are served with excellent made to order food. Prep cook works closely with line cook and grill cook, at times they will assist each other during prep hour, shift changes and regularly throughout the day to complete all food orders.


KEY TASKS

Restaurant Operations

  • Ensures all food production is in accordance with the company's recipes, portion control standards, temperature and presentation specification along with timing guidelines
  • Perform meal-prep activities before guest arrive; chopping, cutting, slicing, dicing, carving,and washing all vegetables and fruit
  • Responsible for ordering and stocking cold food stations
  • Maintains expert menu knowledge and recipes
  • Has knowledge of food allergens and is well versed in preparing dishes to accommodate food allergies and intolerances
  • Responsible for adhering to all Food Safety requirements including applicable laws
  • Maintains cleanliness of the line station throughout shift and temperature controls
  • Provides superior guest service through fast, efficient, accurate, and sanitization production all completed to company standards
  • Have the ability to work in a fast paced and moderate to extremely noisy area while multi-tasking
  • Adheres to safety and sanitation procedures
  • Completes assigned side-work to ensure shift readiness

Communication

  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Effectively listen and respond timely to guest needs
  • Actively listen to others, ask questions to verify understanding, and use tact and consideration when delivering feedback to others

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ability to site to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees including but not limited to bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Have the flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Any other reasonable request/duty made by your supervisor

KEY EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older


RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Previous Prep/Pantry experience preferred
  • Food Handlers Certification


SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE

  • Systems Knowledge of Aloha, not required but preferred
  • Systems Knowledge of Hot Schedules, not required but preferred
