SUMMARY

Perform duties related to receiving, stacking and transferring printed product off press equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible to maintain working knowledge of Hagen OA.

Responsible for moving printed materials off the press in a manner to keep the press running at optimal capacity.

  • Stack down/palletize products as they are run off the press.
  • Work on floor conveyor lines.
  • Count and top bundles on conveyor lines.
  • Set up stacker and double parallel equipment.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jacks.

Responsible to abide and follow all OSHA regulations and Company Safety Procedures. This includes compliance with the following:

  • Hearing and Conservation Program
  • Lockout/Tagout Program
  • Ergonomic Standard and proper body mechanics
  • All other Company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Assist with routine maintenance and general housekeeping of the press and plant area.
  • Consistently demonstrate the Forum's Core Values of Respect, Integrity, and Responsibility.
  • Regular, consistent and prompt attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned by Lead Press Operator, Press Foreman or Plant Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

None.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb steps or ladders multiple times in a shift; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl sometimes in confined or close areas; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requires hearing protection.
