Description & Requirements

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Process Electrical Control Technician to work at our facility in Springfield- MO for the off-shifts. Ideal candidates must be motivated to work in a team-orientated- fast-paced environment. This position requires individuals to perform duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Person must have a minimum of 5 years industrial electrical/electronics/process control experience.
  • Basic math- reading- and communication
  • Ability to adjust to temperature changes (lower 40s to upper 90s); can be in hot/humid or cool environment depending on assigned job tasks
  • Performs bending- squatting- kneeling- sorting- ascending- and descending moves up to 50 pounds; holds and grips object; must possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment and disassemble and reassemble equipment.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalency

Responsibilities & Duties:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the Springfield facility’s electrical/electronic systems. Work with production- maintenance- management- and equipment operators to improve the equipment’s electrical systems and controls- including:

    Provide technical support and training to plant electrical- electronic- servers and process control systems.

    Develop and modify software programs.

    Evaluate and recommend selection of electrical and electronic components to provide a high degree of reliability.

    Using AutoCAD- update equipment documentation and electrical prints as changes are made or observed.

    Maintains up-to-date library of all PLC programs (both hard copy and disk).

    Maintain Data systems (Servers- HMI’s- Laptops) .

    Facilitate efforts to develop component list for rebuild kits- assemblies & standby equipment.

    Recommend/implement continuous improvement on equipment- electrical/electronic components- and system design to improve line effectiveness & equipment reliability.

  • Work with Maintenance and Production Management and individual maintenance associates to plan and schedule work through the following tasks:

    Visit job site.

    Develop Bill of Material (B.O.M).

    Facilitate part requests from Maintenance Associates.

    Coordinate required labor resources to perform job.

    Analyze job performance measures for continued improvement.

  • Facilitate the installation of electrical systems:

Electrical/control schematics and control cabinet drawings and instruction manuals for electrical systems of new installations. Maintains- “as built” electrical and pneumatic schematics and work in conjunction with project engineering draftsman to ensure the drawing files are up to date. Recommend electrical systems- materials- PM program- technical training & spare parts for all new installations.

  • Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance activities.
  • Conform to Kraft Heinz Foods Company- Inc.- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and perform area housekeeping duties.
  • Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner consistent with lockout/tag out- hot work- fall protection- and other OSHA regulations.
  • Provide leadership in Failure Analysis to determine root causes of reoccurring failures.
  • Provide leadership to increase OEE for Kraft Heinz Company- Springfield.
  • Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the Springfield QRMP accountability document.
  • Accountable for the Safety- Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.
  • Strong knowledge in:

    maintenance- electronic/electrical power and control systems- and/or demonstrate sufficient training and experience in electronic/electrical power and control systems

    use of Allen-Bradley and Texas Instruments programmable logic controllers for machine/process controls and troubleshooting

    design electrical circuits and control cabinets using PLC’s temperature controllers- counters- and miscellaneous control/pneumatic hardware

    use and operation of process variable sensing elements (RTD’s- thermocouples- transducers- humidity/moisture meters- photoelectric sensors- etc.) and be able to apply them to manufacturing environment

    configure and calibrate all forms of electrical- electronic- and pneumatic process equipment

    use AutoCAD to make revisions to documentation

    electrical installation and construction

    application of both AC/DC motor drives

    SAP- Microsoft Word- Excel and e-mail

    technical writing skills

  • Must have the ability to:

    lead and participate in plant problem solving teams

    apply problem-solving techniques & train others in problem solving/troubleshooting of electronic/electrical circuitries systems

    communicate technical information efficiently and effectively with all levels of management and plant personnel

    demonstrate leadership in continuous improvement

    plan effectively.
