This opportunity is located at our Macedon, NY location on 1st shift.

OVERVIEW:

This position plays an essential role in fostering a safe, efficient, and clutter-free work environment within our plant. Responsible for executing an array of tasks related to organizing, decluttering, cleaning, and maintaining work centers, this individual must be task-driven, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously and efficiently utilizing a provided priority list and seeking direction from the appropriate parties when necessary.

This position will be expected to work closely with the operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, and will receive direction from the Plant Manager and Operations Performance Manager, as well as take on self-directed initiatives, in pursuit of the performance goals of the plant.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the plant by removing clutter from work centers and common areas.

• Ensure that proper tools are present, organized, and set in order within the associated work center

• Responsible for creating efficient workflows of products and materials to include painting and floor striping

• Responsible for all elements of 5S (sort, shine, set in order, standardize, sustain)

• Inspects facility for improvement opportunities, safety concerns, breakages, etc.

• Prepare a list of all items in need of repair or improvements and provide it to the supervisor.

• Must be able to perform projects that include painting, measuring, and use of power tools.

• Study the operation and condition of packaging equipment to identify opportunities to optimize performance in the work areas

• Review work centers for opportunities to standardize and facilitate a visual workplace.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with adhering to and/or implementing 5S/lean methodologies.
• Knowledge of machine setup is preferred
• GED or High School Diploma preferred but not required

WILL BE ABLE TO:

• Fluently read and write in English language to ensure paperwork and record keeping is completed to SQF standards.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering to achieve business objectives.
• Effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Follow and implement written or oral instructions.
• Able to problem solve with limited information.

Language Ability: Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.

Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), RedZone, and/or SAP would be a plus.
