The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their community.

Even though we are the largest self-directed services provider in Maryland with over 1600 participant employers enrolled statewide, our Self-Directed Services team is anything but impersonal. The work we do directly supports employers with (I/DD) in experiencing greater self-determination, independence, and choice. Expanding our administrative capacity when it comes to accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activities is mission-critical work that allows us to live up to our mission as a team.

As we build the future of self-direction in Maryland, the Processing Specialist, Self-Directed Services works to provide financial service support for employers, anything from mileage reimbursement to reviewing invoices, auditing timesheets to resolving payroll issues. The Processing Specialist will be a flexible, agile member of our team working across all departments to ensure accuracy, compliance, timeliness, and professional correspondence. A tech-savvy professional with a strong customer support skillset, ideal candidate will work independently and as part of a team to determine priorities and implement necessary actions to meeting reporting and processing deadlines. The specialist must possess integrity, technical excellence, leadership, and the ability to get things done in an efficient, respectful manner.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of (3) three years of business experience, though experience in payroll, accounts payable, and budgeting is also desired. The wage is $22.00/hour, and the position comes with ongoing professional development opportunities and a competitive benefits package. This is a remote position, but the candidate must be able to travel to our Severn, Maryland headquarters or other Maryland sites for quarterly meetings as needed.
