Knife River Prestress Concrete Division is seeking a professional, innovative, and detailed individual for our Procurement Manager position. If you like working with a growing team, building a best in class processes and strong supplier partnerships then this position is for you!

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead procurement for two KR prestress concrete plants located in Spokane, WA and Harrisburg, OR

  • Develop and manage business processes to ensure high quality, appropriate inventory levels, timely delivery, and competitive cost from suppliers

  • Collaborate with project managers and operations to execute strategic sourcing plans & company objectives

  • Identify supply chain risks including overall market trends, capacity constraints, commodity risks, and business conditions for manufacturers and suppliers

  • Create and improve supplier relationships by identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement and executing on agreed plans

  • Demonstrate business professionalism, purchasing fundamentals, time management, data analytics, supply chain management, supplier development, cost reduction strategy development and negotiation techniques

  • Follow and apply KR values and principles


  • Compensation:
    The wage range for this salary position is $75,000-$85,000/year.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in business, operations, or supply chain; or a combination of relevant education and experience

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity working with ERP systems

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to travel between sites and regionally as needed

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced team environment

  • Background check results satisfactory to KR

  • Ability to pass a drug screen


  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.A./B.S. degree in business, operations, or supply chain; or a combination of relevant education and experience

  • Understanding of construction or construction materials industry, manufacturing methods and total quality process
