Production Operator Job at W. R. Grace & Co.
Job Description
The Production Operator ensures a safe work environment, handles, stores, and transports chemical materials, operates, monitors, and controls continuous batch processes.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for knowing the equipment and the batch process operation both manual and automatic
- Use field controls and PLC's, and troubleshoot the process
- Provide routine minor maintenance to process equipment and instrumentation
- Sample and analyze plant material to maintain quality standards and take corrective action as needed
- Respond to emergency situations, including emergency shutdown; complete plant data sheets, environmental reports, inventory sheets, forklift inspection reports, etc. as requested, and housekeeping
- Consistently completes operator standard work in a timely manner and takes accountability for actions
- Possess strong problem-solving capabilities and asks for help from leadership when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment by wearing the correct PPE and adhering to all safety policies
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have manufacturing experience, preferably in the chemical industry
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong reading, math and communication skills
- Forklift certification
- Must have ability to to enter into tight, high, or difficult spaces
