POSITION AT A GLANCE:

  • Pay- $70,000-$75,000 + $8,000 annual incentive eligibile + $250 per diem per weekend shift worked
  • Schedule- Monday-Friday, 10 PM - 6:30 AM, with weekends as needed
  • Location- East Hartford, CT
  • Preferred experience:
    • Previous supervisory experience required, manufacturing preferred.
    • Manufacturing, production or similar industry experience required, F&B specific manufacturing preferred.
    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and excellent communication skills.

Job Description


The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of production personnel while overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure that safety and quality standards are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Supervise team of production employees; ensure team is adequately staffed, managed, trained and evaluated
  • Monitor the production process and perform routine checks to ensure that work is carried out according to standard operating procedure
  • Ensure equipment within assigned area is in proper working order at all times
  • Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and supervise change-overs
  • Manage line efficiencies, key performance indicators and down time
  • Manage within budgetary and operational guidelines
  • Maintain and enforce standards of health, safety, hygiene and security
  • Make recommendations and implement processes to improve the overall efficiency, quality and safety of production operations


Job Requirements


  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of Production or Manufacturing experience required
  • Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred; forklift certification a plus
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred
  • Intermediate computer and database skills
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively supervise and motivate employees
