Job Summary:

This position will provide utility and waste treatment support for the site. The utility aspect includes monitoring of all utility equipment operation using the Plant PLC and reacting to correct system upsets. A thorough understanding of the principles of operation of the equipment is expected. Daily work routine includes operation of natural gas/oil fired boilers, testing and maintaining boiler feed water chemistry through chemical additions. Operation of the reverse osmosis water treatment units, which include water testing, flow adjustment, and recording performance data. Change out of deionized water vessels based on water output quality and reorder of replacement vessels. Operation of the main plant compressors, check airflow, and monitor condensation discharge. Position is responsible for the waste and storm water discharge systems in accordance with the NDPES water discharge permit. Position is also responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing problems with utility and waste equipment serving the facility. Position requires periodical revisions to work instructions to maintain operational integrity. Position is responsible for critical data entry to maintain process and environmental accountability. Position is responsible for individual safety as well as the safety of others working in the area.

Experience:

• Previous manufacturing experience in a chemical plant
• Proficiency in basic PC navigation and PLC operations
• Mechanical aptitude in boiler operations in reverse osmosis, air compressors, and water treatment are preferred
