STARTING SALARY: $73,440 - $86,400

NOTE: This is a hybrid remote/in-person position.

POSITION SUMMARY: Collaboratively develops comprehensive evaluation plans as appropriate to program or grant goals and objectives. Works with stakeholders to develop and implement evaluation frameworks for monitoring and evaluation. Utilizes data to assess effectiveness and highlight areas for improvement. Develops summative and formative reports for stakeholders and grantees. Works in collaboration with the Evaluation and Research team to incorporate equity and social justice principles into work performed. This is a grant funded position working primarily to evaluate the expansion of a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. The position will also include evaluation of other WellPower programs and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Design and implement evaluation projects for grants, programs, and departments.
  • Design data collection tools and protocols.
  • Collect data through interviews, surveys, and focus groups with staff, people we serve, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources.
  • Create presentations, documents, and Tableau dashboards for reporting and monitoring.
  • Dedication to continuous practice and growth around equity in evaluation. Promoting the values of equity and furthering these practices in collaborative work within MHCD and with partner agencies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with program managers and program directors to advise on data and evaluation reporting.
  • Establish effective relationships with external stakeholders to advise, provide technical assistance, and implement data and evaluation reporting needs.
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on instrument development, evaluation and data reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the Evaluation & Research team to assist the organization in building capacity to use evaluation in strategy and decision-making processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related field (psychology, program evaluation, applied research, public health, sociology or other social sciences degree with strong emphasis on quantitative and qualitative research), required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years' experience planning, implementing, and reporting on program evaluations. Master's degree can substitute for one year of experience. Experience with qualitative analysis techniques and basic quantitative statistical analysis.

Experience working directly with people who have mental health or substance use issues, highly desirable. Experience in mixed methodology, strongly preferred. Experience with equitable, collaboratory, participatory, and action research methods, a plus.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from all walks of life
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and proficiency of MS Office software including word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail
  • Experience with or willingness to learn data visualization software, such as Tableau
  • Experience with or willingness to learn programming languages, such as SQL
  • Experience with or willingness to learn qualitative analysis software, such as MAXQDA
  • Experience using statistical software packages such as SPSS or R, a plus
  • Bilingual (ex. Spanish, ASL), a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires ability to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours. Much of the job can be done virtually, but some duties will need to be performed in person, in the Denver Metro area.
