The So Company is looking for a Consultant to join our growing team that provides content, usability, and development services to federal, state, and local government agencies and private sector organizations. This opportunity is for a disciplined, flexible, and empathic consultant whose primary role will be working as a design researcher. This consultant will help build our practice in assisting clients to improve service delivery and/or organizational change projects who is interested in working on service design challenges and has the ability to work remotely and in distributed teams.

The So Company is a growing services consulting firm headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, with team members across multiple states and the District of Columbia. Since 2014, The So Company’s teams have supported federal, state, and local government agencies and private sector organizations that help improve services delivery, for example, improving usability on HealthCare.gov for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and VA.gov (formerly Vets.gov) for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will be a project consultant who contributes their operational, strategic, or technical expertise to projects. You will collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to determine project parameters, develop project plans in line with business objectives, and assign project tasks and resources. You will also monitor the progress of each project stage and facilitate necessary interventions. Someone who would be able to help organizations obtain better brand recognition and financial growth. You will coordinate with company executives and sales & marketing professionals to review current market trends in order to propose new business ideas that can improve revenue margins.

Our work is frequently presented to the most senior US government officials such as the United States Senate, House of Representatives, and Executive Office of the President.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct CRM-related tasks and case management practices.
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team that consists of both government and non-government vendors
  • Gather and interpret data, and create and analyze models
  • Perform research, usability studies, and/or user Requirements
  • Software experience with Salesforce or CRM equivalent
  • Comfortable utilizing Microsoft and Google suite
  • Work on internal project documentation with the in-house sales team
  • Gather and interpret data, and create and analyze models
  • Deliver primary and secondary intel on client needs, external project teams
  • Attend required internal meetings, report back on client and project team interactions

Requirements:
  • Must possess a high school diploma; associate’s degree (or higher) preferred
  • 1-3 Years Help Desk Experience
  • Familiarity with SalesForce and VEText portal at VA or similar
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must speak English
  • Verification of identity, education, prior employment, and references is required
  • Must be willing and able to, and may be required to, obtain a SECRET security clearance for federal projects; this may involve a background check and interview with a federal investigator

  • Job Type: Full-time, Remote
  • Compensation structure: Salary(Exempt) Commensurate with Experience
  • Benefits available after 90 days:
    • Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)
    • 401(k) - company contributes 3%/pay period

  • This is a remote position that requires the candidate to provide basic connectivity and workspace; alternatively, a workspace may be provided in New York City in existing So Company offices as space is available
  • Position is at will and begins with a 90-day probationary period
