The Project Manager, Marketing will be responsible for the management of select product marketing initiatives and brand building projects including, but not limited to contract development & entry, merchandise/marketing strategy development and brand communications. This individual will work between the marketing and merchandise departments and brands to ensure that each group is properly represented and that all major product initiatives are being marketed on all the necessary platforms and recorded on all contracts.

Overall detail responsibility:

  • Lead contract processes to support merchant & vendor funding marketing initiatives (i.e. Contract Builder, Tiered Calendar, In-store Grid, etc.)
  • Analyze current vendor contributions & develop strategic plan to increase co-op funding
  • Manage vendor partnerships for in-store initiatives and events including but not limited to logistics, coordination with real estate, asset protection, merchant team and visual team
  • Act as the liaison between the marketing & merchandising team and vendors in order to optimize overall process
  • Grow relationship with key merchandising & vendor peers to ensure marketing strategy & tactics is always closely linked to product
  • Work with individual brands to negotiate marketing contracts quarterly to the extent that accomplishes goals as well as meeting vendor budgets
  • Work proactively with marketing & merchandising teams each quarter to identify strong product storytelling opportunities and develop a marketing plan for each vendor based on budget & individual, strategic business objectives and update plan as changes arise.
  • Work proactively with marketing & merchandising teams each quarter on all internal related photography & images including, but not limited to developing & maintaining schedules, gathering imagery from vendors, developing & maintaining accurate sizing documentation, spreadsheets, product descriptions, distros & pricing for: social media, direct mail pieces, video, etc.
  • Ensure that business needs are being met cross-departmentally and from a vendor perspective by developing & maintaining scorecards & briefs for each campaign that are periodically reviewed and shared with internal groups, vendors and members of executive team.
  • Manage all project plans & deadlines to achieve marketing objectives on time, within established budgets and ensure that they are executed with the highest quality.
  • Lead internal status meetings with internal stakeholders & vendors to present marketing opportunities & develop strategic tactics to reach overall objectives.
  • Assist in preparation and logistics of major photoshoots multiple times a year (coordination of due dates, pre & post production, and communication with external partners)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience managing marketing and /or merchandising-related projects
  • Brand relationship management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Advertising or Communications preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and execute with excellence & precision while adapting to competing demands and shifting priorities
  • Ability to form relationships with vendor representatives that assure brands that we are working in the best interest of their business
  • Ability to communicate & influence effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to convey a sense of urgency in such a way that will motivate others to achieve goals & results
  • Sets clear expectations, performance measures and goals
  • Strong appreciation for the creative process and product knowledge
  • Clear & effective written & verbal communication
