This position is in the University of MN Medical Center (West Bank) Minneapolis Emergency Department and is 60 hours every two weeks - 12 hour shifts, Evenings, every third weekend. Full benefits.

This position is in the University of MN Medical Center (West Bank) Minneapolis Emergency Department and is 60 hours every two weeks - 12 hour shifts, Evenings, every third weekend. Full benefits.
We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis.
- 19 beds in the main section and 7 in section two.
- Provides care to 30,000 patients annually, average 80 daily.
- 50% of patients are mental health.
- Multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.
- Care delivery team: Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians, RNs, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Psych Associates, 4-5 patients per RN.
The Psych Associate is responsible for the delivery of patient care, and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN so that the goals and objectives of treatment are achieved on each unit as assigned.
- Manages the milieu by observing patients in the environment at all times. Performs basic patient care routines and procedures according to treatment plan.
- Participates in the treatment team’s mission, goals and plans.
Minimum Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- BLS (basic life support)
- Experience with working emotionally disturbed persons and at least one year of experience as a Psych Associate.
- Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
