The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER NEUROPHSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING LAB is seeking to hire a clinical entry-level PSYCHOMETRIST (Full-Time, Day Shifts) to work with the neuropsychology testing team. The Neuropsychology Testing Lab serves patients across the UW Medicine system, with primary focus on referrals from Harborview Regional Epilepsy Center, UW Neurology and affiliated clinics. This position entails direct patient care. A Psychometrist administers and scores standardized tests of cognitive function to include tests of attention, memory, language, visuospatial/constructional ability, executive function as well as mood and personality. These tests assist in the diagnosis of adult patients with neurological disorders. Testing is administered under the supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of standardized tests of cognitive functions in accordance with established policies and procedures

  • Accurate scoring of test administered, reporting of test data to include a summary of behavioral observations

  • Ensure the integrity of collected clinical data and verifying the quality of the data

  • Effective communication with team members and administrative staff

  • Attend meetings and patient rounds as indicated

  • Consistent use of AIDET system for excellent service

  • Maintain test equipment and assisting in the ordering of supplies as needed

  • Miscellaneous related duties as assigned


  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral or social science.

  • Prior experience with neuropsychological testing preferred.

  • Competent computer skills (Word, Excel, ect.).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the capacity to evaluate and elicit cooperation from patients with cognitive, behavioral and psychiatric problems.

  • Highly motivated, organized and strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent observational skills and the ability to record those observations.
