The Neil Jones Food Company is looking for a Quality Assurance Clerk at our San Benito Foods facility in Hollister, CA. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

Summary: Provides clerical support for the operation of the Quality Assurance department; offers support to other departments such as Sales and Customer Service. This is a non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality analysis on raw and finished products such as pH, Lactate, Bostwick, Brix, Acidity, etc.
• Compiles and inputs data/information in computer for inventory as well as prepares and sends out Certificates of Analysis to the customers.
• Maintain daily QA inspection reports and product re-grade documentation office files and records in accordance with USDA Standards, including control of hold inventories and dispositions.
• Maintains Hold and Miscode Log and regrades product as necessary.
• Sets aside products according to customer specifications; works with label line and warehouse department to ensure accuracy of set aside procedures, and with forecast analyst to ensure customer set asides are accurate.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree in Quality Assurance, Business, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the job.
• 1 years of related experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
• 2 years’ experience operating a computer; particularly Excel.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Compensation:

• The wage range is $18.04 - $22.55, based on experience and qualifications.
