What We Manufacture and Sell

Axiota's non-antibiotic solutions prepare cattle for times of transition and stress and support producers' goals of optimal health, performance, and animal well-being.

MS Biotec and Axiota are the world's first and only commercial producers of Lactipro advance, a beef and dairy cattle probiotic based on a pure culture of the lactate utilizing bacteria: Megasphaera elsdenii. MS Biotec has developed a unique anaerobic fermentation and formulation expertise leading to the successful commercialization of this strict anaerobe.

We are expanding our team to accelerate the development and commercialization of its innovative product pipeline and allow the company to capitalize on significant market opportunities in the growing natural animal health products market.

Role Overview

  • Review and process Quality reports (Production or Quality Control documentation as needed; CAPA, change control, deviation, recall, etc...) under the direction of the Quality Manager.
  • Assist in investigating and finalizing change control, deviation, OOS, and CAPA documents while seeking final approval from Quality Manager.
  • File Quality documentation and maintain organized system for audit trail.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and/or revising all new and existing Standard Operating Procedures, identifying missing SOPs and needed changes in existing SOPs.
  • Disseminate new and revised SOPs for training and assist in the creation and/or revision, and ongoing maintenance of the MS Biotec training program.
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance system based on MS Biotec SOPs and government requirements.
  • Assist in the evaluation and improvement of quality processes and systems.
  • Prepare Quality Assurance reports (trends analysis) as directed by the QA/QC Manager. Assist Quality Manager with recall and internal and external audit procedures as needed.
  • Understand production and quality control processes and assist with validation of process/procedure changes.
  • Function as a backup to the Quality Manager in the release of intermediate and final product.
  • Support and facilitate communication between departments.
  • Function as a backup for review of Quality Control documentation.
  • Maintain/gain professional and technical knowledge by keeping up with the latest quality requirements related to the animal food manufacturing industry.
  • Continuously evaluate and suggest improvement for quality processes.
  • Assist in developing needed trainings across department.
  • Support Regulatory as needed.
  • Perform work in a fast paced, start-up culture.
  • 2+ years' experience in quality assurance in a GMP facility preferred.
  • B.S. with major in a scientific field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both inside and outside of organization.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and desire to exceed expectations by displaying a strong sense of ownership.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Logistics and Demographics

Our production facility is in Wamego, Kansas, near Manhattan, Kansas, home to Kansas State University. We now have over one hundred employees and have expansion plans for continued profitable double-digit growth year over year.
