Your Role:
As a Quality Control Chemist (Data Review) at MilliporeSigma in Milwaukee, WI, you would evaluate chemical products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. You would review stock suitability data in accordance with guidelines of the quality management system and perform routine secondary analytical data review. And you would focus on the review of new products.
In this role, you would verify data entries are accurately recorded in the process management database (ERP software). Evaluate stock suitability. Produce controlled documentation such as Certificate of Analysis and Product Specifications. Conduct out of specification investigations. Interpret scientific data such as titration, spectroscopy, chromatography, and more. Compare analytical data against established data libraries and product specifications. Maintain complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines. Perform standard stoichiometry and unit conversions. Process change requests through the change management system. Identify opportunities for quality improvement in compliance with Quality Management System. And contribute to the document management program: create, review, and update department SOPs (equivalent to level of expertise).
Lastly, you would participate in quality-related discussions during team meetings. Participate in safety trainings. Communicate with relevant management and departments to ensure customer focused excellence. Provide status updates on operations and bring any deviations to the attention of your supervisor. Supply information to customers and site visitors based on training, experience, and knowledge. Respond regularly and promptly to work emails or other departmental communications. Prioritize responsibilities in alignment with established department goals. Complete routine procedure and policy trainings through a Learning Management System. Conduct job functions in a safe and timely manner. Use metric tracking system. Act and make decisions in a manor based on organizational values and Code of Conduct. Execute job responsibilities to management expectation, aligning to individual, department, and site objectives (equivalent to level of expertise).
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry discipline - OR -
  • 5+ years of working chemistry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Chemistry
  • Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipment
  • Familiar with process techniques and unit operations
  • Familiar with analytical techniques and equipment
  • Understanding of safe chemical handling methods
  • Good communication skills, oral and written
  • Computer skills
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality standards
