Formel D is actively seeking Quality Engineers to support our various customer operations in the United States. These positions may be available on a contractual basis or FT with benefits depending on the specific opportunity.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for quality assurance activities to ensure quality standards of assembled product and devices are achieved and maintained. This includes determining assembly process capabilities, auditing assembly processes for performance and quality, quality cosmetic criteria assessment and generating reports and documentation. This position may also be required to assist with the Quality assurance leadership efforts related to product development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Implement assembly floor improvements to current and future products, and manufacturing process; work with manufacturing to drive corrective action based feedback from audit inspections and manufacturing floor issues.

• -Communicate any issues with product and/or supplier engineers on new or existing programs. • -Special projects as assigned related to the quality department. • -Responsible for project team setup containments of automotive parts, ensuring that only approved components will be sent to the OEM customer for vehicle assembly. • -Prepare test plans and reports (capability studies, qualification, and validation) for assigned improvement activities; provide key technical assistance to manufacturing on writing and executing test approvals and final reports.
• -Assure resolution of all issues raised during testing; provide recommendations for possible solutions. • -Work with product and supplier engineers on establishing quality criteria for new projects. • -Assist in the development and support of assembly floor quality systems; provide guidance and support for quality systems used on the assembly floor. • -Partner and assist engineering with new equipment and processes with installations and qualification procedures; characterize key process parameters in assembly processes and provide control.
• -Review changes to current production to aid in the improvement of processes, product design or material problems, as appropriate. • -Work with internal partners on process and continuous improvement efforts providing technical support and direction; drive key objective results. Qualification/Requirement: • -Knowledge and demonstrated application of quality method and tools. Including but not limited to 6 Sigma, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Controls, Measure System Analysis.
• -Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts into practical solutions; aptitude for conflict resolution, negotiation and creating positive outcomes. • -Creative and persistent problem solver; excellent analytical and thinking skills with a highly refined work ethic who is able to work independently or as part of a team. • -Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills with the flexibility and adaptability to relate to and collaborate with people at all levels of organization and work well with a diverse employee group. • -Be flexible and able to function without rigid organizational boundaries.

Experience/Education: • -Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minimum4 years related experience, required. • -Six Sigma Green Belt certification, preferred. • -Project management experience preferred. Environmental Requirements: • -Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise.

• -Some duties performed outside in all weather conditions. • -This is a physically demanding position. • -Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty pounds • -Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.
