Radiologic Technologist, Per Diem (Regional Position between Waterbury Hospital and ECHN)

RATE OF PAY: $65.00/HR

**Additional compensation offered for a work commitment of 24-32 hours per week.

NOTE: All employees must be willing to rotate between Waterbury Hospital and Manchester Memorial Hospital.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs or assists in radiographic procedures at a level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail. Performs and assists in a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, good knowledge of anatomy, positioning and a thorough technical knowledge of equipment. Assumes responsibility for a designated area or procedure as may be required. Reports to Associate Director of Healthcare Staffing On Demand, LLC.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board and have a State of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical procedures.
  • On an on-going basis the incumbent must obtain the mandatory number of continued educational units (CEU's) needed to maintain the currency of state licensure.
  • Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire and maintain clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this role.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have at least five (5) years radiology experience, two (2) years of experience within ECHN is desirable but not required.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable and capable of performing independently in at least two modalities.
  • Must have a complete working knowledge in the principals of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique, and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology practice.
  • Radiologic Technologists must meet the ECHN age specific knowledge/skill requirement, annually complete ECHN's mandatory education program

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write using the English language.
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish are desirable, but not required.
  • The incumbent needs advanced math skills in physics to understand and set the level of radiologic exposure to the patient and themselves for the process.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:

  • Employees are required to successfully complete mandatory education/training as assigned.
  • It is the employee’s responsibility to complete and return all continuing education documents, i.e. certificates/forms by the posted due date to document knowledge of recent changes.

WORK REQUIREMENTS:


  • A minimum of 24 hours per month, this includes (1) weekend shift equaling 8 hours or more.
  • A maximum of 130 hours per month will be permitted.
  • All employees must be willing to rotate between Waterbury Hospital and Manchester Memorial Hospital.
  • The Central Scheduling Office will notify employee via the provided phone number if there is a need to change the assigned facility prior to the start of the shift. Employee will be notified of any change 2 hours prior to the start of the shift.
  • Employees are required to work (1) holiday under Group A; and (1) date under Group B, per year, to meet the holiday commitment.
