A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.

Primary Function:

AIS is looking for Recreational Use Survey Coordinators to support a six-month field study scheduled to be conducted from April 1st to September 30, 2023. The coordinator is responsible for supporting up to 14 field technicians.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Coordinators will work closely with study managers and the Project Manager to support the field teams and ensure data is safely collected according to protocol and delivered on time. Coordinators will set and monitor schedules and confirm sampling frames are met. Coordinators will travel by personal vehicle to survey sites and monitor the progress of the teams. They will provide guidance, troubleshoot issues, and distribute supplies and materials to the survey teams. Coordinators will be the first point of contact for any issues that arise and will report directly to the Project Manager during regular check-ins. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, thrives tackling a variety of tasks, and is able to accurately track project needs and goals, prioritizing the project’s to-do list and coordinating execution accordingly.

Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated. The position is a temporary, Full-time position. Eligible FT employees will receive AIS’ benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday pay.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
  • Cell phone
  • Live within 30-miles of Portland, OR
  • Must be available to work weekends

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently

Travel:

  • Travel required
  • Mileage reimbursed at Government rate for miles accrued on a personal vehicle from City Center to survey sites, between survey sites and back to City Center

Locations/Homeports:

  • Applicants must currently live within 30 miles of Portland or living there by the start of training.
